LGPA “Paralegal of the Year”

Since 2016, LGPA has honored one member with the “Local Government Paralegal of the Year” award. This award recognizes an individual LGPA member whose on-the-job achievements have contributed to the promotion and expansion of the paralegal profession, including contributions to his or her employer and colleagues and the paralegal profession in general.

To submit a nomination, please fill out an Official Entry Form and submit it by September 6, 2024.

Eligibility:

A candidate must be an LGPA member for at least one year to be eligible for nomination.

Nomination:

A candidate must be nominated by an LGPA member or LGA member in good standing from January 1, 2024 to September 6, 2024.

Criteria:

Judges will be looking for the following qualities and experience:

  1. Works to promote and/or educate the legal community as to the benefits and utilization of paralegals;

  2. Consistently demonstrates knowledge of the law, perseverance in their attorney's’ clients, possesses superior paralegal skills, and exemplifies a commitment and overall attitude that is an inspiration to other paralegals; and

  3. Possesses high ethical standards within the legal community.

Three members of LGPA will serve as judges and will come to a consensus to determine the winner. The winner will be announced at the Annual Meeting on October 12, 2023.
